Effective instruction is an art and skill that requires practice. Good climbers aren’t automatically good climbing instructors. Instructors are responsible for managing risk for themselves and their clients. The Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) Course teaches climbing instructors to proficiently facilitate and instruct the sport of rock climbing in a single pitch setting. The SPI is the only internationally recognized single pitch climbing instructor certification program in the United States.

Trad Mental Mental CampTrad Mental Camp: Psychological Training for Lead Climbing

When: September 17-18, 2022
Where: Devil’s Lake State Park
Click to Register

The Trad Mental Camp is for trad climbing leaders who want to be more comfortable falling and pushing their abilities while lead climbing. This two-day trad climbing course specifically targets developing better mental focus for leading traditional climbing routes. To accomplish this, we need to develop trust in our gear and in our jamming ability. We’ll develop this trust by falling on gear, moving continuously when jamming, placing quick and precise gear, and improving mental focus through application of the Warrior’s Way principles. You’ll leave knowing how to take appropriate risks on trad routes with improved mental focus.
