Tree Climbing Adventures

Canopy Campout

Sleep in the treetops overlooking the Missouri River!

Imagine spending the night suspended high above the forest floor, gently swaying in the breeze, with sweeping views of the Missouri River through the canopy of an ancient Chinquapin oak. The Vertical Voyages Canopy Campout offers a truly unforgettable overnight adventure—combining the thrill of tree climbing with the serenity of sleeping among the branches.

Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a unique way to reconnect with the natural world, this experience invites you to slow down, look up, and sleep where few ever will.

Your Overnight in the Canopy

Campers will sleep securely in elevated Treeboat hammocks or portaledges—suspended sleeping platforms designed for sleeping comfort in the canopy.

  • Treeboats are tensioned fabric hammocks with structural support, ideal for a relaxed, cradled sleep.
  • Portaledges are rigid-framed platforms often used by big-wall climbers—flat, stable, and spacious for a restful night aloft.

Our guides handle the rigging and climbing  systems so you can focus on enjoying the experience. As the sun sets and the forest quiets, you’ll gather for a small campfire and safety briefing before settling into your canopy perch for the night.
